The kitchen is the heart of the home no matter where you live in the world. From the time you were a small child the kitchen has been a gathering place for both family and friends. You think about it when you were just born your mother would warm your milk and cereal in the kitchen for you to survive. She would warm your bottles and rice cereal in the cookware on the stove top. As you got older you would graduate to soft people food. As each year passes the food would change for you until you got to the age where you’d eat your parents and grandparents out of house and home. You learned as a child that a lot of your things happen in the kitchen. A family sits around the table next to the kitchen while others sit in front of the television enjoying their favorite Food Network show. They wander into the kitchen when the scents of the food wander into other rooms of the house.
A kitchen is a place where families catch up on all the latest gossip. It’s the place where the entire family learns about a new life and death. It’s the place where mother’s are scrambling to preparing their child’s lunches and snacks for the afterschool activities. Families gather to share each other recipes. Children learn to cook by watching their mother prepare a meal for tonight’s supper or baking tomorrow’s dessert. No matter who you are you have learned many of life’s lessons in the kitchen under your parent’s feet. It’s a special time of bonding no matter who you are or where you are in the world. A kitchen is a special place full of memories for both young and old. So remember when you enter the kitchen the walls have many stories to tell.
