Red and Green Hamburger Recipe
1 pound 80% ground beef
1/2 medium yellow onion, peel and dice
1/2 large green bell pepper, discard seeds and diced
1/2 large sweet red bell pepper, discard seed and diced
1 tablespoon fresh minced parsley
1 teaspoon sea salt and black pepper
1/4 teaspoon chili powder
1/4 teaspoon dried sage
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1/4 cup 2% milk
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1/3 cup bread crumbs
1/4 cup ketchup
1 teaspoon light brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon sea salt
1 teaspoon prepared mustard
1. In a large mixing bowl combine, ground beef, onion, red and green peppers, parsley, salt, pepper, sage, garlic, milk, Worcestershire sauce, and bread crumbs, mix well.
2. Form ground beef mixture into 4 large hamburger patties, place into a hot large non-stick skillet, cook over medium heat; cook at least 5-6 minutes per side, press with spatula once during cooking process.
3. Meanwhile in a 3 quart saucepan over low-medium heat add ketchup, brown sugar, salt and mustard. Simmer for a few minutes until mixture is warm.
Side Suggestions: Chips, baked beans, and banana sundae.
