Italian beef cooked with Italian seasoning makes for a mouth
watering slow cooker meal.
Preparation time: 20 minutes
Cooking time: 6-8 hours on low in slow cooker
Servings: 6-8
Ingredients :
1 (4 pound) chuck roast
1 cup beef broth
1 cup water
2 packs Italian salad seasoning
3 whole peppercorns
1 small bay leaf
3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
½ teaspoon onion powder
Directions:
1. Trim excess fat off chuck roast, if needed.
2. Place chuck roast into large slow cooker with all ingredients
except 1 package of Italian seasoning mix. Cover and cook for 5-
6 hours on low or until fork tender (do not cook on high).
3. Place chuck roast on a platter and shred with two forks. Strain
broth into large bowl and skim fat off beef broth. Discard bay
leaf.
4. Return broth and chuck roast to slow cooker. Pour in
remaining Italian seasoning mix. Cook with lid for 1 hour on low,
stir well.
Tips:
#1 Serve with Cole slaw, potatoes salad, and chips.
#2 Serve on French rolls or thick bread.
