Homemade Fruit Salad Dressing

November 10th, 2009

Now, I’m adding another exciting dressing to the mixture of all my recipes. It’s a sweet dressing recipe to spice up your favorite fruit.
Preparation time: 5-8 minutes
Cooks2 minutes
Makes about 1 cup
Ingredients
1/4 cup margarine or butter
2 Tablespoon all purpose flour
1/4 cup milk
1/2 cup orange juice
1 1/4 Tablespoons lemon juice
2 Tablespoons white sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon  mustard
3 large egg yolks

Directions
1. Melt margarine/butter in a medium size saucepan on low, pour in milk; stir constantly until mixture boils and thickens.
2. Beat egg yolks in small bowl then add to saucepan, stirring constantly, cook for one minute. Stir in mustard, sugar, salt and fruit juice.
3. Pour into container with lid and chill before serving.

Optional: Substitute Splenda for sugar to reduce sugar.

    Anney,
Thanks for the visit. Condensed milk sounds like a good idea, I’ll have to it this way next time.
