
If you’re looking for a cookie that’s not so sugary, but has a bit of a pop you’ve meet it with the Zesty Ginger Cookies, but if you’re looking for something else sweet check out the my desserts category and pass the milk or tea.
Preparation: 15 minutes
Baking Time: 5 minutes for soft or 7 for harder
Serving Size: approximately 4 dozen
Ingredients
2 1/4 cups All purpose flour
2 teaspoons Baking soda
1/4 teaspoon Ground cloves
1/8 teaspoon Pepper
1 teaspoon Ground ginger
1/4 cup Molasses
1 Large Egg
1 cup Light brown sugar, firmly packed
3/4 cup Crisco shortening
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees
2. Combine in a large bowl all ingredients; mix well by hand.
3. Roll 1 inch teaspoon dough into balls; imprint fork into each cookie by pressing fork into each cookie.
4. Place cookies on cooling rack immediately after removing from oven.
Optional: If you want to use cookie cutters press cookies between 2 pieces of wax paper and roll 1/4 inch thick.
