Leave the Junk Food in the Dust

October 26th, 2009

Finding food that’s healthy for your family isn’t easy now a days. It’s easier just to pick up a candy bar, bag of chips and bottle of soda pop from the local corner store. Now, if you have a bag of Dried Fruit and Nuts around the house you just might break your family’s junk food junkie reputation. If you don’t have the junk food in the house the kids cannot eat it. Putting some dried fruit in your lunch box is easy to do for your entire family. You can pack up your lunch with lots of nutritional food and save a few bucks along the way. It’s less expensive to purchase a bag of dried fruit and nuts than buy your lunches at the local fast food restaurants. If they get tired of dried fruit you can put some mixed nuts into their lunch box or even have it for a snack. You can mix it up with a mixture of the nuts and fruit together or just one. It doesn’t matter if it’s California apricots, yellow peaches, pineapple, almonds or a mixture of dried fruit. Your family will be on the way to leave that junk food behind in the dust.

Well said. I find it hard to eat junk food and candy these days, I used to all the time but managed to ween myself off. I love eating fruit, dried fruit and nuts instead. Especially as a snack as it’s a great pick me up.

I agree with your opinion, Junk Food is a great deal of harm than benefit we get. Avoiding Junk Food is something that will make our lives healthier.

    Nadine,

You’ve got a lot of great points here, it’s hard to wean yourself on the junk especially when most of the vending machines just carry junk.

    Chicken,
Yes, avoiding junk food is better for us, but a lot of us get stuck in the junk food hurry trap.

Junk food is horrible. I come from Italy and food is something really important to me. And obviously I can cook very well! :)

It’s good to see so many people agree on the junk food issue! We just need to get everyone involved now!

    Nadine,
I agree, but the problem is what’s good for you costs the most money
