Finding recipes that are both kid and adult approved is hard at times. I’ve created this yummy Italian bread appetizer or snack just for you to enjoy. The kids can now brown ground beef in the microwave so now the parents are off the hook for cooking supper tonight, so eat up and enjoy. Kids be sure to leave some for your parents too. Happy Cooking

Prep time: 5-10 min
Cooking time 5- 10 min
Serving Size 2-4

Ingredients
1 pound ground beef(defrosted)
1 loaf Italian roll bread (6-7 inch long)
2/3 cup mozzarella cheese
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 basil
1/4 teaspoon oregano
1/2 cup tomato sauce
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
2 Tablespoons onion (finely chopped)

Directions
1.Break up ground beef with onion, garlic and black pepper in a microwave safe casserole dish. Cover dish with wax paper or paper towel and cook for 4-5 minutes or until ground beef is no longer pink. Drain off fat.
2. Mix salt, tomato sauce, basil oregano  with ground beef in casserole dish.
3. Slice bread down the middle and place on microwavable roasting rack. Now spoon meat mixture onto bread and sprinkle cheese on top. Microwave on low for 3 to 4 minutes or until cheese melts. Do not cover.

Tip #1: You can substitute English muffins or any other kind of hard crust bread.
Tip #2: Use any kind of cheese or jazz it up with your own favorite ingredients.
Optional: Cook in your toaster oven. Cooking times vary.

      Judy,
Check out my recipe categories or recipe index page(above in page) in the left hand sidebar. If you go through them you should find some recipes. Sometimes just substituting a different ingredient is all you can do. Good luck on your appointment.

I would love to try that. We are always looking for something quick to make as a snack sometimes. I always do heavy cooking so this is a nice break from it. Sounds delicious.
