Last year I was asked to conduct an experiment on white castle hamburgers after my visit for the first time. Being much of a critic of good tasting food I was really surprised how good the hamburgers tasted ! I’m not much of a fast food eater so when I say they were good, I mean it. You know a cooks got know her food or she wouldn’t be a cook after all !! A few of my readers agreed that hamburgers from the store taste a lot different then the restaurant. I don’t know if its the fact that the burgers are frozen or the fact that the ones at the restaurant are fresh. Here’s a little experiment I counducted. I bought a bag of white castle hamburgers from the restaurant and froze them for one month. I wanted to compare the taste of the Frozen Hamburgers stored in the freezer with the ones from the supermarket. After the month, I baked the hamburgers according to the package directions. I placed the instructions in the Ziploc bag so I could cook them accurately. I cooked the hamburgers in one of my broiler pans that has 2 parts. I poured water in the pan and placed the hamburgers on the top rack of the broiler pan. I covered them with aluminium foil. Here’s my take. The hamburgers from the restaurant after being froze tasted so much better. I can’t say they tasted the same as the fresh, but the restaurant ones are tops in my book. I don’t know if its the fact that another ingredient is added to quick freeze them at the factory or what. So all in all I think its worth the drive to White Castle to buy a bag for the road to freeze at home for quick snacks for the kids or for me for that matter. Easy enough pop a few in the microwave or stove and you’ve got yourself a quick snack or a really simple dinner. Just add a starch and veggies and you’ve got yourself a rush meal.. My husband loves White Castle for those little burgers affectionately called sliders. The funny thing about the burgers is you either love them or hate them. There isn’t any in between. A couple of our kids hate them. Like you we don’t eat much in the way of fast food but make an exception once in awhile. We occasionally bring home a crave case (30 burgers) and freeze them. Thank goodness customs doesn’t have a problem with us bringing them back because we don’t have White Castle in Canada

For years I had heard how wonderful White Castle burgers are but … never had the chance to try them. Now … I’m vegan so … no WC for me. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if they came up with a meatless version for us non-meat eaters (sorry meat eaters … I hope this wasn’t sacrilege).
