Pinay Chicken Heart ask a  Recipe Questions:

1.wanted to prepare this but no apricots here what maybe the substitute for it? i really like this because we love chicken in our family c:

Ms Recipe Says:

You could substitute peaches or pineapple in the Nutty Apricot Crockery-pot Chicken. If you use canned fruit, make sure you drain off the juice before pouring them in the crock-pot.  You will need one can of fruit or a couple of the fruit of your choice.

A reader named Stacy asked a recipe question.

2. do i really have to use so many tomato products? I’ve had baked been chili before and am looking for a recipe, but i’m not a huge fan of tomatoes!

Ms Recipe Says:

You can remove the can of tomato juice from the  Bake Bean Chili in a crockery pot, but it would be thick rather then soupy. You can also remove the tomato sauce and 1 can of the tomatoes.

3. Another Reader  from Genochan’s Blog asked a recipe question about the Nutty Apricot Crockery-pot Chicken

seems delicious..
can we replace chicken with beef? i got allergic with that kind of food..

however, thanks for sharing your yummy recipe

Ms Recipe Says:

You could subsitiue a 1or 2lbs of  Chuck Roast or 2 small steaks cut into  bite size pieces . Just brown it in 2 tablespoons of  olive oil on all sides in a sauce pan prior to placing beef into crockery-pot.

Can yellow squash be substituted for zucchini in bread recipes?

  9. Barbara on August 20, 2009 7:52 pm

In a hurry. Mixed up a box of instant lemon pudding for my husband ’s dessert be fore going to work. TO give it a little more tang, I shortened the milk amount by a few spoonfulls and added a few spoonfuls of lemon juice . the pudding did not set. I’m assuming it was the lemon juice and why?
Now,what can I do to help it set.

    Barbara,

The acid in the lemon juice caused the starch in the pudding to break down. The problem is you already added the lemon juice so their is nothing you can do to reverse it. Next time, try this: Use Lemon extract or lemon rind for the pudding because lemon extract is made from the lemons rind (skin). Hope this helps you for next time, sorry I can not help you this time.

    Jeannette,

You could substitute the yellow squash for the zucchini in the recipe. Just use a grater to grate or shred it first. This is the best I can do without having the actually recipe in front of me.
