Pineapple Spicy Meatballs

Before long the holidays will be on us all which means celebrations for everyone. These delicious meatballs will be a party favorite. Put a decorative toothpick in these babies and you’ll have an appetizer on a stick. Spread out a few leaves of lettuce  for a garnish on a plate and viola you have a perfect party appetizer.

Serves 30

Ingredients

2 lbs ground turkey
1 large egg
1/2-cup light brown sugar
1 pkg dried onion soup mix
1 1/2 cups Italian seasoned bread crumbs
2 cups BBQ sauce (original)
1-can pineapple with juice (crushed) 20 oz
1/4 cup water
Salt and pepper to taste

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees
2. Mix together turkey, egg, and water, breadcrumbs, and onion soup in large bowl.
3. Roll into meatballs about the size of golf balls. Next, place into a good size-baking dish or pan after spraying with a light nonstick cooking spray.
4. Mix together pineapple, barbeque sauce, and brown sugar in small bowl. Pour over meatballs. Bake for 1-hour turn after 30 minutes of cooking.

Tip: You can substitute ground chicken or hamburger instead of turkey Try to use lean ground beef, and cook 15 min longer or until meatballs are cooked.

Optional: Meatballs can be made and frozen up to 1 month

Meal Suggestion: Serve over success boil in bag white rice and French style green beans with butter and margarine.
