Judi From Where the Road Takes us asked a Question: I don’t make it a lot, but a friend at work says that she freezes the cabbage head then takes it out the night before to defrost and that eliminates the need to boil the leaves. Wonder if that would work in this recipe?

You have to boil cabbage prior to freezing for 2-3 minutes. I have not tried this with my cabbage rolls. To me you already have to boil it for a few minutes anyways so its easier just to prepare the cabbage rolls. You can however freeze the cabbage rolls for later use and they are just as good. I hope this helps you with your cooking and freezing dilemma.

I think my friend just freezes and uses just as is once defrosted. But totally, if you have to boil them anyway that would defeat the purpose. Thanks for the reply
