Paradise Pork Roast

 

Michael from a family Man asked a recipe question:   How can I cook a pork roast in the oven? Got any recipes for pork roast? I’m the cook in the house but I’m the husband, not the wife. Hehehehehe yes, its true.

Ms Recipe:Michael, here is an answer to your question.

Now Ms Recipe is sending you all of to the islands for this delicious pork roast from her family recipe book. Therefore, you all have orders to get your swim gear on and sail into the sunset, but do not forget to come back for more recipes.

Prep: 25 min

Cook time: 2 hours or until meat thermometer reaches 160 degrees.

Serves: 6

Ingredients

2 1/2 lbs pork roast

3 tablespoons of honey

3 tablespoons of pineapple juice or orange juice

1 1/2 tablespoons of soy sauce

2 teaspoons lemon juice

6 cloves garlic (peeled)

1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

1/4 teaspoon paprika

1/4 cup ketchup

3 tablespoons olive oil

Salt and pepper to taste

Directions:

1. Preheat oven 325 degrees

2. Pour olive oil into skillet and brown roast on all sides for 5 minutes.

3. Remove from skillet and cut six slits into pork roast. Put one garlic clove into each slit and place roast into a baking pan or dish.

4. In a medium bowl mix together ketchup, pineapple juice or orange juice, honey, soy sauce, lemon juice together. Pour mixture over pork roast. Next, sprinkle nutmeg and paprika over pork roast.Bake for 2 hours at 325 degrees.

5. Let stand 5 min before serving.

Tip: Mix together 2 tablespoons cold water and 1 1/2 teaspoons cornstarch in a small bowl and set aside. Pour drippings into a small saucepan and bring to a low boil. Then pour in cornstarch mixture and bring to a rapid boil until desired thickness. Pour over Pork roast and serve.

  3. This looks like a great recipe. I think I’ll make it for my family this Sunday. I always try my newest recipes on that day for some reason. Maybe I feel I need all the help I can get when I’m praying it turns out right!
