Readers Recipe Questions Answered

August 30th, 2008

Shiva  from Supershiva asked  a question about the Dogs in a skillet.

Shiva’s Question :”Can bread or buns be used in placed of hot dogs??”

Ms Recipe answers: Yes, they could be used as a substitute. You can toast the bread in the  oven for a couple of minutes on both sides with margarine and Parmesan cheese, then put the rice mixture over the bread or hot dog buns.  This makes your own croutons. You could use beef or chicken too as a substitute.

Sam from sjpo asked a question about Sweet Potato Soup.

Sam’s Question: “Not too keen on bacon though, anything you would recommend as a worthy substitute? Or will it be fine without?”

Ms Recipe answers: The soup would be fine without the bacon.

Hello Mrs. R…would you happen to have a recipe for the fabulous ‘Ice Mocha coffee’ that they serve in Star bucks and a few other places?

I wondered if you have any recipes that use sauerkraut? I love it plain and I like it cold. I don’t eat ribs–or any meat for that matter–which is how my family has always eaten it. But I wish there was some way I could dress it up or use it?? Thanks!
